2019 Ukraine presidential elections broke the record for the number of competitors – there were 44 of them! Needless to say that it was extremely difficult to check the profiles of each of them, analyze their information and not to go mad. Our team decided to help our readers with all that (except for going mad) despite the fact that usually we stayed away from the politics – as the future of Ukraine depended on those elections.
How do you make people check out all the candidates that wanted to compete in the elections? After a quick look, we understood that we didn't need to invent anything – the most practical and contagious behavioral pattern is already invented. Tinder swipe is that pattern; that's why we decided to make a special Tinder-like website, where the only profiles you can check is the profiles of the candidates for the elections.
Then, we asked ourselves – how do we show only truth about each candidate? We added four links to each profile: link to the candidate's election agenda, link to each candidate's revenue declaration from National Agency of Corruption Prevention (NACP), link to the candidate's political history, and the data about the candidate being involved in anti-corruption investigations by Chesno. One could also check how often the politician tells the truth, using "The Corpus of Lies" ("Antolohiya Brekhni") tool by VoxCheck. And last but not the least, we added some humor in the candidate description – so that the important things would not be dull. We also wrapped it up so that no-one could bring a case against us – yet it wasn't our creativity which helped us in this case, but a good lawyer.
